About
NGC 4394 lies about 53 million light-years away in Coma Berenices and is a Virgo Cluster member sharing a field of view with the lenticular galaxy M85. It is a clear barred spiral whose central bar feeds near-ring inner arms, and it is thought to be gravitationally influenced by M85. As a natural companion to M85, long-focal-length imaging captures this spiral-plus-lenticular pair in a single frame.
